Call me an old fuddy duddy or even an alter kocker but I think 70 mph is too fast for a street without sidewalks that children play on. Illinois might not.
This would not be rare though. I’ve noticed the speed limits on rural roads get higher the closer I get to the nation’s soft chewy center. In New York it is rare to see a 70mph speed limit on a major interstate let alone a rural road. I’m not saying NY is correct but I know cars and trucks going faster take longer to stop and have less time to react. More things will be killed. Have we learned nothing from “Pet Cemetery?”
