My former Chicago colleagues now current friends took me out to lunch. Read they picked a place, they did not pay.
While I could have stayed and talked all day, they each had that familiar unsettled look on their faces. I sort of recognized it but could not place it. Then I remembered, it’s that look of “there’s something I really should be doing at the office.” Or, “I should be nursing my baby,” for the two new moms.
I told them all to relax as what they are doing is not that important and they are not saving the world. For some reason they did not thank me.
