A local was telling me the history of different neighborhoods and I mentioned how a lot of the architecture reminds me of some areas in Chicago. Well I shouldn’t have done that. He taught me how Chicago is only possible because of St. Louis. It is older, more historic and more significant to the building of the American economy yet Chicago gets all the attention.
To show I understood I said New York and Boston have a similar rivalry. He relaxed and said, “Well we are a whole lot nicer about it than you.”

Hey Jeff! If you are planning on coming through Chicago in the next week let me know!
I’m settling in St. Louis for a few weeks to slow down and smell the roses. But I will be going through Chicago eventually and will give you a heads up.
