The other day Janine asked me if I ever felt in danger on my road trip.
The one time I was worried was during a hike just outside of Phoenix. I did not take enough water, the temp climed to nearly 100 degrees and I took a short cut that turned out to be dangerous. There was no going back after I went down a few steep inclines. The crazy part was that I could see civilization the entire time but my phone did not work and no one knew I was there. Obviously I survived and I’ll never do something that stupid again.
Janine told me it’s good to know that the only adversity I encountered was self inflicted and that no one ever harassed me. She then added, “It must be nice to be a man.”
No, Janine. It’s really nice and easy being a white man.
