Because every journey starts with a quiche in Watchung, NJ.
My friend Susan and her daughter Claire hosted my first official stop back on the day I left, April 16. I did not blog about the lunch because the Boston bombing just happened and critiquing my friend’s cooking seemed a bit silly. It’s been over seven months so I can tell you the quiche was wonderful. Susan still has some service issues to iron out but otherwise, top notch.
The picture of the flowers on the car’s dashboard, which makes up my blog header, came from Susan’s yard that day.
The reason I’m nostalgic for Jersey is because I’m hurtling through it right now.
So close to home but New England is calling. (Come he-UH)
