It was in my backpack exactly where I was looking in customs. My American God must’ve been protecting me from Canada. If I see the Queen while hiking today I will surrender it to her. To lessen my chances of running into Her, I will stay off the horse trails.
A colleague at Lloyd’s told me how he once got lost wandering the grounds at tWindsor (apparently some of the property is a public park) and ended up on the Queen’s private bridle path. He did not know this until he saw an elderly lady on horseback (no helmet, just a scarf on her head, which I guess is some sort of royal du rag) accompanied by two men, also on horseback. He blocked her path so she slowed to a walk and said “good morning.” He did not mace her. He just said “good morning’ ma’am,” and slunk away, totally embarrassed…
She does like a do rag. Did you see The Queen with Helen Mirren? She was wearing one when she was trying to fix room transaxle on her land rover.
