This is a quaint touristy town so hotels are not cheap. But I will not pay $200 for a Holiday Inn Express. Save $60/night, be in a better location and stay at The Commadore Hotel. I could have saved more but I wanted my own bathroom. An utterly charming hotel, which must have been a flop house for seamen back in the day. If I could go back in time…
The lobby of the hotel is dominated by the Street 14 Coffee shop. They made a perfectly cooked egg, spinich, tomato, and Swiss panini for my breakfast. All the baked goods are made here. I tried the oatmeal cranberry cookie. Tart, sweet, lovely. The staff is cute, efficient and less of the namaste shit I’d been seeing in Portland. Not sure why the barista drew a butt in my espresso.
the commodore hotel is owned by lionel richie. you can stay there all night long.
All night. All night. All night long.
feel good. feel good.
